The Chi Phi Educational Trust was at a crossroads. Undergraduate membership had doubled in the past thirty years, administrative tasks and educational responsibilities had grown exponentially and Greek life was changing. To compound the problem, the Trust had no staff members and needed to overhaul day-to-day operations. To address these problems and to continue offering an authentic, values-based fraternal experience, Chi Phi needed to substantially grow its endowment and assets, and it needed experienced non-profit staff.
Led by a group of committed volunteers, Chi Phi worked with OmegaFi to outsource the management of the Educational Trust and to launch a comprehensive capital campaign. Through this outsourced arrangement, OmegaFi has helped revise and develop 19 management policies to guide Trust operations, helped grow the Trust volunteer base from less than 25 volunteers to more than 100 and implemented new grant impact measurements to track donor impact. Moreover, utilizing OmegaFi staff members, Chi Phi has raised $11.3 million from more than 2,300 alumni - exceeding the campaign goal by $1.3 million.
