In 2001, the City of Morgantown, West Virginia temporarily closed the century-old KA Manor because of its deteriorating condition. Alumni realized they had to do something and rallied together. They soon set out to build a new KA Manor. Working with OmegaFi, the Alpha Rho Chapter raised more than $1.2 million for their new house that cost more than $3 million to build. The new house opened in Fall 2006, and makes an impressive architectural statement to the entire WVU campus from its location atop North High Road. Thanks to two lead gifts of $75,000 each and an average gift of $4,150 from 202 donors, KA has the newest and nicest house at WVU, and it set a new housing standard for other fraternities and sororities at West Virginia University.
